For Cafés, Downtime Is Everything

Baswa had a grand opening in five days and a machine that didn’t work.

LoyalTeas Café · 2223 East Franklin Ave, Minneapolis

She needed two things at once: her machine properly repaired, and something to pour espresso on opening weekend while I had it. So I took her machine into the shop, went through it completely, and had it back to her in five days.

In the meantime I loaned her one of my own machines at a low rate so she could open on schedule — no delayed launch, no lost first weekend, no explaining to customers why there’s no espresso.

That’s the standard for every job here, not just this one — whatever it takes to keep your doors open while the real fix gets done right.

What I fix

From seized groups to full restorations.

Repair & diagnostics

Seized groups, boiler and pressure issues, electrical faults, leaks, descaling, rewiring, and PID replacement. From lever machines to modern automatics, commercial or home.

QUOTED UP FRONT

Vintage restoration

Vintage machines brought back to how they were the day they rolled off the assembly line. Original parts salvaged before anything gets replaced.

QUOTED PER MACHINE

Safety upgrades

Every rebuild gets modern safety standards: asbestos seal and gasket removal, modern pressure cutoff switches, new high-temperature wiring.

ON EVERY REBUILD
Also in the shop

If it brews, grinds, or pours a hot drink.

Espresso is the specialty — but the same parts run most of the equipment behind the counter: boilers, pumps, valves, heating elements, and control boards. If it makes or dispenses a hot beverage, I can most likely fix it.

How it works

Four steps. No surprises.

STEP 01

Reach out

Call or text with the make, model, and what it's doing (or not doing).

STEP 02

Up-front quote

I diagnose the problem, then quote the job before any work begins — so you approve the cost up front.

STEP 03

On-site or drop-off

I come to you, or drop it at the Eden Prairie workshop for faster turnaround and lower cost.

STEP 04

Test & return

Pressure-tested and shot-tested. It goes home when the espresso says it's ready.

Amazigh means "free people," the name of the Indigenous people of North Africa, where coffee is hospitality, patience, and craft. That's how we treat every machine on the bench: no shortcuts, no rushed jobs, nothing goes back out until it's right.

About the shop

Repaired by a collector, not just a repairman.

I collect espresso machines myself, so a restoration means back to the day it left the factory, not just working again. Original parts stay wherever they can.

Based in Eden Prairie, serving the Twin Cities. If it makes espresso and it's broken, get in touch.
